Milk production: growth + 2% in the industrial sector in January

During the first month of 2021, milk production in Ukraine decreased by 2.3% and amounted to 531.6 thousand tons. This was due to a reduction in households - minus 5.2%.  At the same time, the industrial sector worked in the plus - + 1.9%.

According to the analytical department of the Association of Milk Producers.

Quite good indicators were in industrial farms at the beginning of the year. In total, the sector provided 227.6 thousand tons of milk.  Production increased the most in Sumy (+ 15.4%; 14.2 thousand tons), Ternopil (+ 15%; 9.2 thousand tons) and Khmelnytsky (+ 13.5%; 16 thousand tons).  ) areas.  At the same time, the decline in production was typical for such regions as: Rivne (-32.7%; 3.3 thousand tons), Chernivtsi (-22.2%; 0.7 thousand tons) and Odessa (-21  .7%; 1.8 thousand tons).

In the analyzed period, 304 thousand tons of milk were produced in households. An increase in indicators was observed in households in Luhansk (+ 6.9%; 3.1 thousand tons), Rivne (+ 0.8%; 12.5 thousand tons) and Khmelnytsky (+ 0.9% 22.9  thousand tons) areas.  Mykolayiv region (-12.6%; 7.6 thousand tons), Poltava region (-10.8%; 18.2 thousand tons) and Cherkasy region (-10.3%; 8.7 thousand tons) showed the largest decrease in indicators  .).

The overall ratio of production was distributed as 42.8% in the industrial sector and 57.2% in households, in 2020 it was 41% / 59%.
